But now all the inspectors testified that the house was not secured to its foundations. Since this was hard to believe, the seller suggested the contractor to look properly.

So the contractor inspected the house and found that it was bolted according to the 1955 standard. However, standards today stressed on using bigger bolts spaced together to increase safety. As these two professional inspectors show, a home inspection is only as good as the inspector.

According to American Society of Home Inspectors or ASHI members need to pass exams along with complete supervised inspections.
