Unemployment Benefit ? Time to Read

You have a bit of time on your hands now and you can improve your knowledge and your reading skills by reading more than you are used to. Your brain will think that it is at a brain gym! Your brain fitness will improve no end.

There are many places where you can find reading material. I am sure that there are many at your home right now. Books that you always meant to read, newspapers, computer articles, magazines etc. etc.

You can get free reading material from the library of course. This will include fiction books, reference books, instructional books, up to date newspapers, magazines and of course computer websites and information.

Cheap reading material can be from charity shops, jumble sales or maybe someone just gives you their old books. I always give my old books away, or I used to before I got my Kindle. The Kindle is another source of free books, many of the classics are available for download for free. There are also free eBook sites on the web too.

By reading you can entertain yourself, a little bit of escapism from your perceived pressure of hunting for a new job.

You will exercise your mind, we are advised these days that we need to keep our minds working to ward off some of the effects of old age and the effects of dementia etc.

You can learn something new. Get a reference book and read on through to understand something new (e.g. learn a new language). Or you can gain more knowledge for your job, catch up on new trends and innovations from trade magazines and websites.

Maybe you are not too great at reading, you could go and get those adult reading skills lessons that you had always meant to take?

When you have been laid off of work, it is an ideal opportunity to get the benefits of reading.
